Interdisciplinary learning is a key component of IB MYP curriculum. It can improve students’ application of knowledge in a creative way and reinforce their understanding of new knowledge. The development of knowledge transference can help students improve learning flexibility and initiative to become lifelong learners.

Students from Grade 6 to Grade 9 inquired into the Key Concept of Culture and researched diets, architecture and customs of southern China incorporating the subject areas of Language and Literature as well as Humanities and MYP Related Concepts during their trip. All the research was conducted under the Global Contexts of Globalization and Sustainability and Personal and Cultural Expression.

We hope their study could not only satisfy their curiosity but also make a difference to the local community. This was also a good chance for them to gain global citizenship and

responsibility.
