I.Application Fee

A one-time, non-refundable/non-transferable application fee of 500 RMB is payable at the time of application. The school will start to review the candidate after receiving the application fee.

II.New Student Fee

A one-time, non-refundable/non-transferable new student fee of 500 RMB for new student materials and other ancillary expenses associated with the matriculation of new students will apply. 

III.School Fees

The tuition fee covers all the major costs in running a high-quality educational program. The tuition fee varies according to grade level, as shown in the tuition fee chart.

School fees may be paid in full, prior to the commencement of classes.

Late payment for returning and new student may result in loss of eligibility to enroll.

IV.Collection and Payment Fees

This is prepaid. The school will settle accounts based on the actual paid and any excess payment shall be refunded and deficiency shall be repaid.

Collection and Payment Fees include

a.Partial costs of Clubs, ECA and activities. 

b.Costs of field trips (no overnight) outside Changzhou City, including study, visiting and competition. 

c.Costs of overseas original textbooks used by individual students.

d.Costs of evaluation, examination, competition in domestic and abroad based on the courses.

e.Web-based educational subscription fees.

f.Costs of overnight learn field courses (about a week) and optional overnight trips, visiting, training, competition, camp that are paid by parents.

g.Other expenses

V.School Lunch Fee

The school lunch fee for PYP is 2,250 RMB per semester and should be paid in full. Middle and high school students use prepaid Campus Card.

VI.School Bus Fees  

The school bus fee should be paid in full per semester. In case where students withdrawing the first half semester, fees for the second half semester will be refunded. No refund will be offered for students who withdrawing the second half semester.

VII.School Accommodation Fee

In principle, the school provides accommodation only for partial students in middle and high school. The accommodation fee is charged according to the type of the apartment (two-bed rooms), which is 4,650 RMB per semester.

VIII.Discounts
 

A discount of ten percent on the base tuition fees is available to parents for their legitimate third child or more. 

IX.Responsibility of Payment of Fees

The student’s parent or guardian is wholly responsible for payment of tuition and other fees by the due date, even in cases where payment may be subsidized by a third party such as the parent’s employer.

Once the payment is received by the school, it is deemed that the student’s parent or guardian agrees to the school fee policy.

X.Payment Schedule 

The payment due dates for fees are indicated on all invoices. Tuition fee must be paid before the due dates indicated on the invoice for a place to be confirmed. 

For newly enrolling students the fee payment is generally 10 days after acceptance of offer. 

Students are not allowed to attend school before the payment is made. 
    

XI.Refund Policy

The following are the guidelines and timelines that govern the CBS Refund Policy. Please note that the calculation to determine the specific amount of the refund will be completed on the actual date that the student withdraws from CBS. Only subsequent to the actual withdrawal date will the specific calculation be finalized, at which time the process leading to that actual refund will then commence.

• A 100% refund will be given if a formal written notification of withdrawal is received on or before the first day of school and the student does not attend any school days for the upcoming year.

• A 50% refund will be given if a formal written notification of withdrawal is received on or before November 1st (First Semester)or April 1st (Second Semester) and the student does not attend any school days for the second half semester.

• No refund will be provided if notification of withdrawal is received after November 1st (First Semester)or April 1st (Second Semester).

Refunds can only be provided after the student completes all necessary withdrawal procedures and has left the school. Any issued receipts should be returned to the school prior to the fees being refunded. 

A student whose enrollment has been terminated by CBS may be eligible for a fee refund.

XII.School Fees Method of Payment 

Bank card payments can only be made in person at the BCIS Finance Office. A bank surcharge will be applicable per transaction, a 0.5% surcharge for domestic debit card (upper limit: RMB 20), a 0.6% surcharge for domestic credit card (no upper limit) and a 2% surcharge for foreign-issued cards (no upper limit).

Payment can be made by bank transfer payable to the school’s USD or RMB bank account. For easy identification, please remark the students’ names when doing the transfer. 

Parents may pay in USD or RMB. The exchange rate will be set by the school based on daily exchange rate. 

XIII.Statement

CBS reserves the right to make the final decision on the fee policy.
