When the day becomes shorter and the night becomes longer, we will begin to smell the fragrant olive plants throughout the day, and that's how we know Autumn is coming.
Here at CBS PYP, we are holding a series of activities about the Mid-Autumn Festival, which creates a traditional Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere.
On September 6th, Grade 2 students finished a large display with a Mid-Autumn Festival theme, which is also related to their UOI about celebrations. In this exhibit there is a fairy, called Chang'e, who can be seen flying to the moon in her beautiful gown.
Additionally, we held our fifth Chinese calligraphy contest which is centered around the moon as the topic. All poems and writing were related to the moon, and we could see how much love every student put into their beautiful works.
On September 12th, we made different kinds of lanterns in our classrooms and hung them in our halls. We also wrote post cards to our relatives, and all the cards were attached to strings of lights, which added warmth to the celebration.
As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, from all of us at CBS, we wish you all the very best!
