Congratulations to Changwai Bilingual School for receiving the IBMYP authorization letter from IBO and becoming an IB World School!

The official IB authorization officers, Mr. Patrick Ritter and Mr. Mauricio Joven Bonelo made a two-day verification visit at our school from October 22 to 23. This visit was held both online and offline to ensure the safety and health of all members of the IB community considering the current pandemic!

During the two days, the visiting team conducted a comprehensive evaluation on the implementation of IBMYP at CBS. They reviewed the materials in strict accordance with the standards and practices of IBMYP, and held talks with Ms. Cao Hui, chairman of the school board, Ms. Nancy LEE, executive principal of CBS, Ms. Annie Chen, operation principal of CBS, the pedagogical leadership members, the programme coordinator, all the teachers, student representatives and representatives of parents, so thoroughly understood the progress of IBMYP at CBS. At the end of the visit, the visiting team spoke highly of the development of IBMYP at our school within the two years as well as the learning community fully integrated with IBMYP. In particular, they highly recognized our innovative bilingual education model and provided suggestions for our further development.

According to the authorization process and standards for being an IB World School issued by IBO, a school must pass very strict evaluation of IBO, and only when it fully conforms to the standards in school mission, educational philosophy, organizational structure, qualified teachers, teaching skills, school facilities and curriculum can it be authorized. From submitting application to IBO to becoming a candidate, from orderly preparation and practice, receiving consultancy visit, to verification visit, every member of Changwai Bilingual School, from the board to the "IB learner community", has been committed to supporting and promoting the implementation and development of the IBMYP.

Congratulations to Changwai Bilingual School for being the first IB school in Changzhou that offers a complete PYP, MYP and DP program. This not only takes the international education of CBS towards the next level but also helps fill in a gap in the international curriculum of Changzhou education field.
