The HS department training about CAIE portfolio of evidence for the June 2022 series

After three weeks’ online teaching, the HS department of CBS has already resumed regular teaching routine, with all teachers and students preparing for the coming official exams in an intense but orderly manner. At the same time, given the fact that the situation of pandemic is still severe domestically, to respond to the unexpected and regulatory requirements effectively, A-level department of HS held a training about CAIE portfolio of evidence (PoE) on the afternoon of 8th April.


CAIE has introduced official policy about how to evaluate students’ academic performance in a fair and objective way if schools cannot organize official exams as usual. In order to help teachers better interpret the policy and clarify the emergency response plan which is based on the reality of our own school, A-level department held the training session particularly. All teachers and Mark Yu, the Principal of High School Department, participated in the training.



Jing Wang, who is the coordinator of A-level department, introduced the official policy at the beginning of the training, and explained basic operation and time nodes involved in the PoE emergency response plan, illustrating the responsibilities for subject teachers and subject leaders. To ensure the objective and fair evaluation on students’ academic performance even when the school cannot organize official exams due to epidemic prevention and control. 



After Jing’s speech, all subject teachers set off in-group discussion to formulate detailed response plan for the specific subject.

The training session deepened the teachers’ understanding of PoE policy and our school’s implementation of response plan, which also sorted out the time nodes and key features during the process. Our school has already prepared well to make sure the implementation of PoE if emergency happens in the future, and all teachers have confidence and capability to escort the students to achieve excellent grades in this year’s official exam season!
